The Receptionist handles customer inquiries via email, on the phone, and in person and provides information and assistance to staff and the public according to established procedures. This position is also responsible for computer support, photocopying, filing, mailing and other clerical duties to support the other staff members in a busy office environment.

Program Manager, Career Bridging

The Program Manager will manage operations for a new PYN pilot program, Career Bridging, funded via Philadelphia Works’ Employment Connections for Opportunity Youth grant, serving youth and young adults who are transitioning out of the School District of Philadelphia’s Career Technical Education (CTE) Healthcare related programs.  The Career Bridging program will serve 55 young people over the course of 18 months.

The Program Manager will work with key partners supporting the facilitation of occupational skills training, work experience and on-the-job training.  The Program Manager will directly manage the Case Manager role.    

This position will sit off-site at Job Corps Life Science Institute at 2810 S. 20th Street, Philadelphia PA 19145 and will travel to PYN main offices, 400 Market Street, at least once a week.

Evaluation Specialist, Research and Evaluation (Seasonal)

The Evaluation Specialist is a member of the Research and Evaluation team and primarily responsible for the successful implementation of the WorkReady Summer evaluation plan. This individual will be support the development of an evaluation plan, assist with the development and fielding of surveys and assessment tools, collect qualitative data through interviews and focus groups with staff and participants, provide technical assistance to providers for successful completion of surveys and assessments, and analyze quantitative and qualitative data about the program.

Professional Development Specialist, PEP (Seasonal)

The Professional Development Specialist will revise the PEP Department’s professional development curriculum as well as plan and implement the Professional Development Orientation(s) and 6-week series. The Specialist will report to the Program Specialist (PEP) but may work closely with other city-partners and seasonal employees

In close consultation with the PEP Department, the Professional Development Specialist will create nationally-relevant professional development lessons (including a 4-hour student orientation, 6 2-hour lessons and assignment content of digital badge). The Specialist will also be responsible for creating and managing the facilitator training and guide.

Contextual Learning Specialist (Seasonal)

The Contextual Learning Specialist (CLS) is part of a seasonal team designed to support the implementation of the Contextual Learning component of summer employment programming on behalf of WorkReady from April through August. This position requires a flexible schedule, the ability to work some evenings and weekends, and frequent travel throughout the Philadelphia region.   

The Contextual Learning Specialist will be primarily responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of Contextual Learning activities and related administrative and programmatic requirements for contractors providing Summer programs.

Professional Development Facilitator (Seasonal)

The Professional Development Facilitator is part of a seasonal team designed to support the Professional Development portion of the summer internship model. Facilitators will be required to work two Intern Orientation Sessions (full-day) the first week of July (either July 5th, 6th or 7th), and six Professional Development Sessions (full-day) every Friday, July 14th – August 18th. Additionally, facilitators must be able to attend one training (half-day) in June (date TBD) and one debriefing session in August (date TBD). This position requires a flexible schedule and the ability to work Fridays.

In addition, the Customer Service Specialist will work collaboratively with the PMI team to share accurate and consistent messaging related to WorkReady and PYN. Business Partnership Specialist

The Business Partnership Specialist (BPS) will build and maintain relationships with partners to expand career-connected education opportunities for Philadelphia’s youth and young adults. The BPS will work closely with the Director, Director, Partnerships for Employment Pathways, other members of the department and key staff within PYN to ensure relationships with the business community are cultivated to support the menu of WorkReady programs and other PYN initiatives. The BPS’s responsibilities span business engagement and management, program management and expertise in industry trends.
