City Hall - Office of City Council Member Jeffery Young Jr.

The office of Council Member Jeffery Young Jr. is proud to announce the launch of our summer program, specifically designed for high school students.   This unique program is tailored to introduce young leaders to the intricacies of local governance and public service. 

Students will have the chance to work closely with Councilmember Young and his team, engaging in a variety of tasks that support our day-to-day operations and broader community initiatives. This is an unparalleled opportunity for students to gain firsthand experience in government, enhance their understanding of civic duties, and contribute meaningfully to their community.   

Responsibilities Include:   

• Assisting with office administration and organization.   

• Participating in community outreach and events.   

• Conducting research on local issues and policies.   

• Supporting staff with project-based work.

• Current enrollment in High School.  

•  A letter of interest outlining why you want to work with Councilmember Young's office.   

• A current resume.   

• A recommendation letter from a teacher or counselor.
