City Hall Internship - Office of Council Member Isaiah Thomas
Formal Title - Council Administrative Intern
Supervisor - Dom Miller, Chief of Staff
Position Overview
The office of Council Member Isaiah Thomas will be launching summer projects and initiatives
that we know could use the support of young and enthusiastic people ready to learn! With this
program, interns will get a full overview of working in city government including working directly
with constituents to manage issues and provide resources; Creating and organizing initiatives
and task forces; legislative research; and so much more! This position is perfect for someone
looking to find their direction in the sphere of public service, and who also wants to do real work
for the community in the process.
Tasks Include, but are not limited to:
Constituent Services
Data- Entry
Note-Taking & Reporting
Virtual / In-Person Event & Meeting Staffing
Work independently and in conjunction with a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing
projects.
Preffered Qualifications:
Must be interested in either: Public Service, Event Planning, Community Outreach,
Communication, Special Projects, or Legislation.
Has a background in interning, volunteering, or working for a government agency, non -
profit, or professional environment. (not mandatory)
Must be a self-starter!
Must have great verbal and written communication skills.
Software knowledge of Microsoft & Google Products. (Canva is a plus!)
Most Importantly extremely flexible.
