The Lightbulb Learning Center Education Internship provides a hands-on experience for individuals interested in education, youth mentorship, and student support. As a Learning Champion, interns will play a key role in ensuring students stay engaged and on-task while navigating online learning platforms and independent assignments. Interns will also assist with learning center operations, including maintaining a clean and organized environment, supporting students’ academic growth, and interacting with families and staff.

Responsibilities Include: 

Student Support

• Actively supervise and engage with students to ensure focus and participation

• Assist students with technology, including Chromebooks and online learning platforms

• Deliver positive feedback and redirections to encourage student effort and self-confidence

• Provide clear, consistent directions and support students in following instructions

• Foster a positive learning environment that promotes academic success

Learning Center Operations

• Prepare learning materials and assist tutors as needed

• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including checking inventory and supplies

• Ensure common areas, classrooms, and materials are orderly and ready for use

• Build trusting relationships with students, parents, tutors, and colleagues

• Sanitize tables, chairs, and high-touch areas

• Organize bookshelves and return materials to their proper place

• Ensure trash is emptied, food areas are cleaned, and supplies are restocked
