Join State Senator Amen Brown’s Office for a dynamic internship experience where you’ll gain firsthand exposure to the operations of an elected official’s office. This internship provides a unique opportunity to engage in constituent services, community outreach, event planning, and policy research, allowing you to develop professional skills, build networks, and make a meaningful impact in your local community.
Interns will assist with various administrative and legislative tasks, actively participate in community service initiatives, and serve as a bridge between residents and the Senator’s office. Whether organizing events, conducting research, or facilitating conversations with community members, this experience offers valuable insight into public service, government operations, and civic engagement.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Assist in responding to constituent inquiries via phone, email, and in-person visits
Support casework related to community concerns, such as housing, utilities, and government services
Provide clerical and administrative support, including data entry, filing, and document preparation
Participate in outreach initiatives to inform residents about available state services and resources
Assist in planning, promoting, and executing community events, such as town halls, resource fairs, and service projects
Support voter engagement and civic education efforts in the district
Conduct research on local and state policy issues relevant to the Senator’s legislative agenda
Draft summaries, reports, and memos on policy topics and legislative initiatives
Monitor current legislation and government affairs that impact constituents
Assist in drafting community impact reports and policy recommendations
Capture photos and document community events for media and public relations purposes
