TGR Foundation - STEAM Educator Internship
The Tiger Woods Foundation at Cobbs Creek is seeking a passionate and dedicated intern to support the delivery of our dynamic STEAM
curriculum at the TGR Learning Lab and in partner schools. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the Director of Programs and the national team to implement hands-on, project-based lessons that inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning in students. The intern will assist in fostering an engaging learning environment, providing support for assessments, data collection, and collaborating with educators and community partners to enhance student experiences.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Assist with Curriculum Delivery
Support the planning and delivery of innovative, project-based STEAM lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities. Help facilitate engaging activities, experiments, and realworld applications that inspire students’ curiosity and deepen their understanding of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM).
Support Assessment and Data Collection
Assist in implementing formative and summative assessments to track student progress. Collect and record student data, including attendance and daily exit surveys, and help in analyzing the data to gauge program impact.
Lesson Preparation and Organization
Help prepare lesson materials, experiment kits, and hands-on activities for classroom delivery. Work with the team to ensure all resources are ready and organized for use in lessons.
Collaborate with Educators and Community Partners
Support communication and collaboration with fellow instructors, educational partners, and community organizations to enhance the overall learning experience. Attend team meetings and contribute ideas to improve program delivery.
Mentorship and Student Interaction
Engage directly with students in classroom activities, fostering a positive and supportive environment. Encourage students to think critically, embrace challenges, and develop a growth mindset. Serve as a role model by demonstrating enthusiasm for STEAM education and lifelong learning.
Professional Development
Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current with trends and best practices in STEAM education. Apply new knowledge to improve program delivery and student engagement.
Reflect and Contribute to Program Improvement
Participate in classroom observations and reflect on teaching strategies to continually improve your own teaching practice. Provide feedback to the program team on student needs, challenges, and opportunities for growth.
Assist with Recruitment and Outreach
Support efforts to recruit students for upcoming sessions, including outreach to local schools, community organizations, and families. Help create promotional materials and assist in recruitment events when applicable.
