Chekemma Fulmore-Townsend, Vice President of Program Services at Philadelphia Youth Network (PYN), has been selected as one of Philadelphia Business Journal's 40 Under 40 Award winners. This is a very elite group of 40 professionals under the age of 40 that excel in their industries; they have each been selected because their achievements and contributions make Philadelphia a better place to live and do business.
Since 2005, Chekemma has lead PYN in becoming a data-driven organization. She successfully pioneered a performance management system that has transformed PYN's ability to manage the performance of over 56 provider organizations that serve nearly 20,000 youth annually. With over 15 years of experience, Chekemma has combined her social work foundation in macro-practice with a concentration in research and non-profit administration to influence the way PYN views its work and decision-making processes as an organization. Chekemma's personal and professional commitment to providing youth with opportunities that introduce them to their individual potential is evident through her work ethic and the culture she promotes inside and outside of PYN.
Michael Pompey Declared a Top IT Innovator by the Philadelphia Business Journal
Michael Pompey, Chief Information Officer at Philadelphia Youth Network (PYN), has been selected as a Top IT Innovator in the city by the Philadelphia Business Journal's Top IT Pros. This award was designed to recognize those leaders whose roles have evolved from miners of communication systems and computers to indispensable strategic advisers and operations experts.
For the last 10 years, Michael has worked diligently to make PYN a technological leader in Philadelphia and the nation by setting a standard of excellence for youth-serving organizations. When he joined PYN in 2002, the organization had no modern technology capabilities. Since then, he has created multiple systems that increase efficiency, optimize data-collection, and foster growth within the organization. Michael has implemented systems that brought PYN into the 21st Century and transformed the way PYN staff works. Additionally, he has developed a vibrant and collaborative IT team that continues to accomplish innovative work through strategic partnerships, as well as manage and leverage IT tools and resources to further PYN's mission and goals.
PYN is honored to have leaders such as Chekemma and Michael on staff, and grateful for their dedicated service and remarkable leadership!
