Philadelphia - On Tuesday, June 25 and Thursday, June 27, over 700 Philadelphia youth prepared for summer employment through WorkReady Philadelphia. Starting with a keynote address from Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams and Lorina Marshall Blake, President of the Independence Blue Cross Foundation, the orientation was designed to prepare young people to succeed during summer employment.
High school youth participated in large- and small- group activities reinforcing professionalism and 21st Century Skills. Additionally, this year's orientation included a special Dress for Success segment.
In total, 7,600 summer job opportunities have been created through WorkReady this year. Click here to see WorkReady orientation in the news.
