Philadelphia - At the December 2, 2013 Philadelphia Youth Network (PYN) Board of Directors meeting, the Board announced that Chekemma Fulmore-Townsend has been appointed President & Chief Executive Officer of PYN, effective January 1, 2014.

On September 9, Chekemma was appointed Acting President & CEO following the resignation of former President and CEO Stacy E. Holland (read more about this announcement here). The Board is confident that this appointment will provide the necessary leadership and energy to continue offering valuable services to all of Philadelphia's young people.

"Chekemma has proven that she is a change agent, and is prepared to lead the organization.  She is committed to ensuring that youth are given access to experiences that introduce them to their individual potential," said Pamela Gallimore, Board Chair of the PYN Board of Directors.  "It has been a pleasure working with her and the leadership team throughout the last three months, and we are excited to see the greater impact this team will make in this new season of leadership."

Chekemma has extensive experience working with PYN, and led the organization in becoming data-driven.  She successfully pioneered a performance management system that transformed PYN's ability to manage the performance of over 56 organizations that serve nearly 20,000 youth annually.  To read more about Chekemma's experience, click here.
